Bea, I’m working on a Cromwell kitchen garden. All the references to the growing, cooking and eating in the trilogy suggest it should be possible. This winter, a Black Worcester stewing pear, an Oullins gage.

Thank you! An excellent read with tonight’s curries—innocent of artichokes, and I am not sure that chilli and ‘chokes would work—but reading about any food while eating is fun, and with the addition of your textile-creation adventure, well, cups are running over. I love the precision of your painting on the cloth, btw. Looks like a hard-won skill to me.
